Clashes between police and protesters are intensifying in Chile's isolated and picturesque Patagonia region.

Demonstrations are entering their second week, with people rebelling against what they consider to be decades of neglect and abuse by the Chilean state.

Protesters are refusing to back down until the government agrees to their demands for higher minimum wages, and improvements to health care and education.
