The European Court of Human Rights has ruled Russia's prosecution of former oil magnate Mikhail Khodorkovsky was not politically motivated. The judges in Strasbourg did however find that his rights were violated during his arrest in 2003. The ex-head of oil-giant Yukos, and once Russia's richest man, is currently in jail for embezzlement and money laundering.
