Last week Mansoor Arbabsiar became known to the world as the man accused of playing a major role in an alleged Iran-backed plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US.
But some, in a Texas town where Arbabsiar spent more than 30 years as "Jack", view the accusastions with scepticism.
They say he is shambolic and disorganised - two traits that make incapable of committing such a hit.
