Gilgit, Aug 27: These pictures reflect the brutality that members of the Shia community face in Pakistan. On August 16, 2012, at least 25 Shias were killed in Naran area of Manshera, while travelling on buses for the festival of Eid. The victims were checked for their identification documents, before they were lined up and killed. Sunni extremists allied to or inspired by al Qaeda and the Taliban routinely target religious minorities and other Muslim sects. Islamabad ignores these tragic incidents and banned Sunni militant organizations like Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are rarely caught or punished for such atrocities.
