The family of a man accused by the Syrian government of being a spy for Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, has insisted he was forced into a false confession.

Last week, Syrian state TV broadcast footage of Iyad Youssef Enam apparently confessing to helping Mossad assassinate Imad Mughniyeh, a military leader of Hezbollah, in Damascus in 2008.

Al Jazeera's Omar Al Saleh reports from Al Bagaa, a Palestinian refugee camp in Amman, Jordan's capital, where Enam's family say they are certain that he is innocent of the allegation.

Rights activists have said that the accusation is part of the Syrian government's efforts to falsely blame the country's ongoing popular uprising on foreign elements.
