Argentina takes Falklands dispute to the UN

Britain and Argentina, who both lay claim to the Falklands Islands in the south of the Atlantic Ocean, have continued to trade exchanges over the disputed territory.

The two countries fought a war over the islands in 1982, and tensions over the status of the territory have risen ahead of the 30th anniversary of the conflict in April.

In recent exchanges between the countries, Argentina has complained to the UN about what it says is the UK's increased militarisation in the area.

Britain, which recently sent a routine patrol warship to the area, says that claim is absurd.
