Models walked the runway at Ludhiana during The Blenders Pride Punjab International Fashion Week, showing off new collections by some of India’s foremost designers.
Held in the northern Indian state of Punjab, the fashion show presented a wide variety of clothes, from traditional garbs to more modern dresses, and many had its own cultural flare.
Renowned designer couple Riyaz and Reshma Gangji showcased a collection for the family.
[Riyaz Gangji, Fashion Designer]:
"Basically this one we call it the truth. Eventually wedding is not the just bride and groom; it's for the family so we presented the collection which families like the most. It has 'blush and regards', it has Indian heritage colours. We chose lace work, 'zardozi' work, which Indians have been wearing since years. India is booming in every way but I would say we still have that culture thing in us, this is what we presented today, it's called the truth,"
Among the models who worked the runway was actress Jonita Doda, who was very happy to work with Riyaz and Reshma.
[Jonita Doda, Punjabi Actress]:
"...there collection is so wearable. If you see the whole of their collection that is something you really want to go and wear it, look good. They are comfortable, they make you look glamorous and decent at the same time and that is the best part of their collection.”
The international fashion week concluded on August 19th.
