London 2012 volunteers received a special royal thank you as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Team GB House at the Olympic Park on Friday (August 3).
The royal couple arrived at Team GB headquarters just in time to be part of the loud cheer that erupted for Britain's lasted Olympic champions -- gold in a new world record for the men's team pursuit cycle team.
It is reported that the Duke and Duchess had personally requested the visit in order to give their thanks to the army of Olympic volunteers.
The gathering was attended by members of the military, 'Games Maker' volunteers and a range of other volunteers working with Team GB, representing the thousands working at London 2012.
