An Ariane 5 rocket lifted off from Kourou in French Guiana today at 20:54 UTC. The rocket carried the Intelsat 20 and Hylas 2 communication satellites into orbit.
Intelsat 20 will provide communications to many regions and will replace the Intelsat 7 and Intelsat 10 satellites. Hylas 2 will provide Ka-band communications to Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
This was the 64th launch of an Ariane 5 and the 4th flight of 2012.
