Timothy Geithner, the US treasury secretary used the Euro finance ministers meeting to warn Europe on the catastrophic repercussions if they did not take decisive action to tackle its debt crisis.
But it went unheeded after the Eurozone decided to delay its decision on the Greek bailout until October.
Geithner's appearance at the Poland meeting signaled growing American concern that Europe's financial crisis may threaten the US economic recovery.
The US' own debt surpassed $14 trillion this year.
