There have been more massive anti-government protests in various cities across Syria demanding an end to President Bashar al-Assad's 11-year rule.
The city of Hama witnessed one of the biggest demonstrations on Friday, as people marched through the streets, unfurling a long Syrian flag.
Activists say security forces killed more than 20 people in the government's continued crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.
But protesters have vowed to step up their demonstrations even throughout the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
