Residents of the mostly-Shi'ite district of al-Aleen in eastern Baghdad survey the damage.

This is the site where a car bomb struck late on Monday, killing six people and wounding 24 others.

The attack took place near a popular coffee shop just after locals broke their fast, as part of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The owner of the coffee shop was wounded in the attack.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) COFFEE SHOP OWNER, SAA'ED IBRAHIM, SAYING:

"After we finished Iftar we went to our shop, the coffee shop to relax and talk about Ramadan. Suddenly at 11:00pm we were shocked by a bang, as if we were attacked by a rocket. We were all hiding under our couches."

Overall, at least 107 people were killed in bomb and gun attacks in Iraq on Monday.

A day earlier, 20 people died in explosions in a coordinated surge of violence largely targeting Shi'ite Muslim targets.

No group had claimed responsibility for the wave of assaults.
