Congress President Sonia Gandhi underlined that her party, the Congress, is always committed to serve the poor, minorities and backwards. All the Congress’s policies are aimed at the welfare of the poor, underprivileged and the downtrodden, she reiterated. Sonia Gandhi also explained about the welfare policies framed by the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre like MGNREGA, policies for the minorities, backwards and women. Sonia Gandhi said that the biggest employment guaranty scheme MGNREGA ensured every poor a minimum of 100 days of job in the villages.
