Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of the DK Bongos from Nintendo. The DK Bongos are a unique controller peripheral based on the Donkey Kong franchise and used solely for Donkey Kong spin-off games for the Nintendo GameCube. The DK Bongos are essentially drum controllers that require the player to beat them like drums to control the games that support them. The controllers are based on the barrels that have been synonymous with the Nintendo icon Donkey Kong since his arcade debut. The DK Bongos debuted in 2004 with the rhythm game Donkey Konga, but the controller would only be implemented in two more games afterward in the United States. This video review features footage of the DK Bongos and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
