Rihanna sues, Spider-Man to be trilogy

Rihanna has sued her former accountants for mismanaging her finances. In a lawsuit filed on July 3, the singer and her tour company are seeking unspecified damages, claiming the accounting firm caused "significant financial losses" between 2005 and 2010 by charging "exorbitant" commissions, mishandling foreign and domestic taxes and failing to monitor unpaid song royalties.

A former personal assistant to U2 bassist Adam Clayton, who embezzled 2.8 million euros ($3.5 million USD) of his money to fund a lavish lifestyle, was sentenced to seven years in jail on Friday (July 6). The 48-year-old from Dublin was convicted after an 18-day trial in the Irish capital. Prosecutors said she stole from two of Clayton's bank accounts between 2004 and 2008.

A 30-year-old woman admitted to a UK court on Friday (July 6) that she smashed a window at Simon Cowell's London home in March with a broken brick. The woman pleaded not guilty to two other counts including burglary and was told to stay more than 300 yards away from the X Factor judge's property and not to contact him.

The latest big screen incarnation of Spider-Man, which hit theaters on July 3, has already pulled in more than $100 million worldwide. Banking on another successful weekend, Sony Pictures has announced that we have not seen the last of the webbed superhero. The studio has confirmed that "The Amazing Spider-Man" is the first installment in a trilogy.
