STORY: Britain's Queen Elizabeth II began a week-long trip to Scotland with a trip to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Monday.
The monarch is in the Scottish capital Edinburgh for Jubilee celebrations, marking the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
Along with the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, the queen will host events in several Scottish cities.
The queen and Prince Philip were greeted by a large crowd as they arrived at the gallery, which reopened in December after extensive restoration.
