In this video, Angie Simpson, the administrator of Lotus Park Assisted Living, discusses the accommodations at Lotus Park Assisted Living.
"That is one unique thing that we have. Is that all of our rooms come with cable, they come with internet, and they come with a phone. Nobody pays any extra for that. We all get it.
The next thing is we do everybody's laundry. Now they can do their own laundry if that's something that they really want to do. They can do it and we have the facilities for it. But everybody gets their clothes washed every week. All their towels, their rugs, their sheets, whatever they need washed. And of course if they need it more than that then we can accommodate that too. But just with a basic room you get all of that.
All of our rooms have their own thermostat, and so if one patient likes their room to be 80 degrees and another one wants it to be 60 degrees they can have whatever they want.
Each room has a lanyard. Each resident will have a lanyard with a call button so they don't have to get up and go find somebody. All they have to do is push the button. They also have an intercom system on the wall in their room. They can just push the button if they want. If they don't want to use their lanyard they can push the button.
The other thing is they can push the button and they can find out what the menu is and they can find out what the activities for the day are. They can get up and say "oh what do I want to eat today?" push the button and it gives them the menu and they can say "oh cool, I'm going to have something really good to eat." Or they can push the activities and they can say "okay I want to play bingo today, I want to go on the road trip with the bus, but I don't necessarily want to do the craft because I don't want to make a wreath." So they can kind of pick what they want and just listen to it right there. It's really nice.
They do have a call light in the bathroom so if they don't have their lanyard on and they need help in the bathroom they just pull a little cord and there you go. All the showers have a seat in them, they're all handicap accessible so there's grab bars. Everything that would keep them safe is all in there.
Anybody who moves into a room, they can bring in their own furniture, they can hang up their own pictures, some of them even put vinyl words on the wall. We're fine with that.
