In this video, Dr. Jeremy Felt, a dentist in Roy Utah, discusses what is tooth decay.

"Tooth decay is a process. It starts with demineralization of the enamel of your tooth. Over time, acid from bacteria and some of the foods that we eat break down or de-mineralize the enamel—enamel being the hardest surface in your body. Once it breaks through the enamel, it gets to what we call the dentin underneath, which is a softer form of tooth structure where the bacteria thrive and spread out much more rapidly.

So dental decay—or tooth decay—is basically once the enamel is broken down and the bacteria and the decay starts spreading within the tooth.

I appreciate you taking the time to look at the videos today. Hopefully the information that we've given has been helpful and informative. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call.
