Thousands of fans turned out on Saturday for Japan's 2012 MTV Video Music Awards as Japanese pop stars and Korean icons joined American rockers Linkin Park to celebrate the best music of the year.
Before the awards themselves, the stars headed down the red carpet to greet fans with Linkin Park signing autographs and greeting those who came out.
While Linkin Park were the only major western stars to make it to the awards, Japanese stars were out in force including some such as World Order who became Youtube sensations with their pop and lock dancing in suits through downtown areas.
The overall best video of the year award went to Japanese group Exile.
