It is an increasingly familiar sight for the cafe owners and shop keepers in Egypt.
As Egyptians go to the polls many hope the new president will deliver stability and customers.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) CAFE WORKER, HANY AHMED, SAYING:
''Business before the revolution was good but after the revolution it's completely different. We don't have any work, if we get one group of tourists we think we are lucky. We sit here until after the sun sets without anything, and if two or three Egyptians pass by these are our only customers. And this causes problems because we all need and want customers.''
Tourism is Egypt's top foreign currency earner, the source of more than a tenth of gross domestic product. It provides one in eight jobs in a country beset by high unemployment.
As Egyptians await the election results, in the bazaar the hope is they will deliver something for business.
