Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game console review of the Sega Game Gear. The Game Gear was Sega's first portable console and fiercest competitor to the highly successful Nintendo Game Boy, released in Japan in 1990 and elsewhere in 1991. Featuring a backlit full color screen was its biggest advantage, although it did cause some issues with battery life, and eventually the lack of developer support would keep this great console lagging behind in sales. There are still a handful of great games to play on it, however, and an essential piece of kit for nostalgic Sega fans on the go. This review demonstrates the use and features of the Sega Game Gear with commentary from CGRundertow reviewer Kevin.
