North Korea sent thousands of its children on holiday to the capital Pyongyang this week, with state media reporting that it was a gift from the country's new leader Kim Jong Un.

Twenty-thousand youngsters from ordinary families all over the country have been invited to Pyongyang, with planes, trains, and buses laid on by the state to bring them to the capital.
