The US military has told Al Jazeera that it is negotiating with foreign governments to take non-Afghan prisoners from its controversial prison at the Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan.
Several Afghan detainees have already been released ahead of the prison's transfer to Afghan control due at the end of this year.
Two inmates were killed there while being interrogated in 2002, and other former inmates have claimed they were abused and tortured.
Al Jazeera's James Bays reports.
