Sudan will be holding an election on April 11, the first in 24 years, but the complex voting system will not be easy in Southern Sudan, where about three-quarters of the population are illiterate.
In this region, voters will have 12 different ballot papers. Ballots will be identified by the colours blue, green, and purple and political parties will have symbols - all to make the voting easier.
The government is holding a step-by-step lesson for first-time voters. It staged a mock vote in a parking lot and a practice session. It has drafted non-governmental organisations to help out. Despite the blistering heat, there are plenty of volunteers.
