US first lady in anti-obesity drive

Every year after Easter Sunday, children and their parents flock to the White House lawns to take part in the traditional hunt for eggs.

This year, First Lady Michelle Obama is using the tradition to boost awareness about childhood obesity.

According to US health authorities, 15 per cent of children between 6-11 are overweight or obese, meaning 10-12 million children in the country weigh more than what doctors say is healthy.
