On a trip to the Middle East, Joe Biden, the US vice president, has said that there must be no delay in resuming Israeli-Palestine peace talks. His comments come despite a row over Israeli plans to build 1,600 new homes on Palestinian land. Biden has criticised the timing of the building decision, which prompted the Israeli prime minister to apologise.
