A cricket video for Cricket World TV about the latest cricket news from http://www.cricketworld.com. Find us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/cricketworld and Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cricket_world as we discuss the news of Kevin Pietersen retiring from international limited overs cricket.
Pietersen has decided to focus solely on Test cricket, bringing an end to a career in which he blasted more than 4,000 runs in ODI cricket and 1,000 runs in T20I cricket and helped England to victory in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 World Cup competition.
Pietersen had recently featured in the IPL for the Delhi Daredevils, hitting a wonderful 103 against Deccan Chargers and previous to that, helped England to a Test victory in Sri Lanka where he was warned for using the switch hit against Tillakaratne Dilshan.
He was one of the first players to use the shot in international cricket and one of the few to switch hit in Test cricket, often using it to hit for six and four.
He made his international debut in 2004 against Zimbabwe, played 18 matches before his average dropped below 100 and then played a key role in England's ICC WT20 win in 2010, also featuring in the 2007 and 2011 World Cup, where he opened the batting alongside Andrew Strauss - another player who now only features in Test cricket for England.
