Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble from Rare and Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Broadly overlooked when it released two months after the Nintendo 64 (N64), Donkey Kong Country 3 again shuffles the playable Kong cast. It brings back Dixie Kong for a starring role and introduces another new Kong, the simian toddler Kiddy Kong. While the faces may be different, the same gameplay that made Donkey Kong Country such a hit the two years prior returns in tact in Donkey Kong Country 3. And in fact, the dynamic between these two is more reminiscent of the first game, pairing the nimble Dixie with the stronger Kiddy.
