The 65th annual Cannes Film Festival has officially kicked off with a glamorous red carpet ceremony on Wednesday (May 16) featuring a bevy of starlets, the jury who will pick the winner of the coveted Palme D'Or at the end of the 12-day extravaganza, and Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and other stars of "Moonrise Kingdom."

Thousands of journalists and movie executives are in the glamorous Riviera resort for nearly two weeks of hectic daily screenings, red carpets, parties and dealmaking.

Among the other stars on the carpet were Alec Baldwin and Jane Fonda, U.S. actress Eva Longoria and "Video Games" singer Lana Del Rey.

The Cannes Film Festival runs until May 27.
