The Financial Times has reported that Zhou Yongkang, the Chinese Communist Party's security chief, may have been forced to give up "day-to-day control" of the powerful Political and Legislative Affairs Committee (PLAC) to a subordinate. The PLAC is a powerful Party organ that controls the police, the court system, and the procuratorate. If true, this would be the latest incident in an ongoing power struggle within the highest levels of the Communist Party.

On today's China Focus, NTD Senior China Analyst Heng He talks about whether the reports on Zhou are credible, and how one photo in the state-run People's Daily could hold the key to reading Zhou's fate. And, will Zhou be able to quietly retire at the 18th Party Congress later this year? Or are there more incidents ahead?
