Two doctors in the US say they have developed an artificial heart that will let people live longer.

Instead of pumping blood around the body like a human heart, the device spins the patient's blood around the body, using centrifugal force.

It also means a patient using with the new machine will not have a heartbeat or a pulse.

The doctors say their continuous-flow pump will last longer because it has fewer moving parts than artificial hearts.

Al Jazeera speaks to William Cohn, one of the doctors who developed the device at the Texas Heart Institute.
