Riots Erupt as Crises deepens in Lebanon

Dec. 3 - Lebanon's political crisis is showing no sign of easing as thousands of pro-Syrian protesters press on with a sit-in.
The demonstration is aimed at ousting a Western-backed government intent on holding on to power.

The Shi'ite Muslim group Hezbollah and its allies in the opposition held a third day of protests at a tent city in central Beirut, within earshot of the office-turned-residence of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

"Some reports suggest that groups of Hizbullah and Amal members stormed the Sunni area (Naharnet), intensifying the clashes with the Sunni residents that erupted following the passing and subsequent stoning of a Hizbullah convoy on its way to the southern suburb. Many stores and businesses were torched during the ensuing riots "
