For eight years in a row now, Subway has ranked as the top quick service brand. It's numerous lower calorie, better nutritional menu choices are a major reason for its high rankings.

Started in 1965 by Fred DeLuca, a high school graduate who wanted to make some money for college education, Subway today is in nearly 100 countries with around 35,000 locations. Their annual revenue is estimated to be $17 billion.

Dairy Queen and Wendy's were the 2nd and 3rd highest rated restaurants in the Harris Interactive Poll. McDonald's, probably the most recognized restaurant name around the world, came in at the 6th place.

When it comes to Pizza, Papa John's Pizza jumped to first place as the top rated pizza brand, displacing Pizza Hut, who had the first spot last year.

In the coffee and quick service category, Einstein Bagels came out on top with Dunkin' Donuts as the 2nd choice.
