"Dark Shadows" cast members Johnny Depp, Eva Green and Michelle Pfeiffer talk about pop culture's ongoing fascination with vampires.

Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a cursed vampire imprisoned for 200 years and set free in 1972.

Barnabas is met with culture shock when he comes face to face with roads, cars, troll dolls and lava lamps.

SOUNDBITE: Johnny Depp saying (English):

"To have this vampire coming back 200 years later in 1972, and basically being the eyes that we never had back then; the eyes that can see the absurdity."

Eva Green plays evil sorceress Angelique Bouchard, who condemns Barnabas to eternal hell as the undead after he confesses that he doesn't love her.

SOUNDBITE: Eva Green, "Dark Shadows" co-star, saying (English):

"She would die for him; she would do anything for him. She just wants his love back. I don't know what's alluring about him though. His fingers probably, that's what she likes about him."

Michelle Pfeiffer plays head of the Collins household, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard.

She dished on her childhood obsession with vampires and explained their seductiveness.

SOUNDBITE: Michelle Pfeiffer, "Dark Shadows" actress, saying (English):

"This one image burns into my mind, and that's this woman and her neck is being sucked on by Dracula and this look of ecstasy is on her face and I just remember going, 'Oh my god.' It was the sexiest thing I've ever seen."

"Dark Shadows" hits theaters on May 11.
