Amateur video out of Syria shows armored vehicles on the streets of Douma.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters shows the Syrian military flooding the streets of the town just two days after UN monitors were on the site in an attempt to halt the violence between rebels and government forces.

The April 12 ceasefire has only modestly reduced the level of daily carnage, with both sides accusing each other of multiple breaches of the truce.

More footage shows demonstrators taking to the streets in other parts of the country. The United Nations says Syrian forces have killed more than 9,000 people since the start of the revolt last March. Syrian authorities blame foreign-backed militants for the violence and say 2,600 soldiers and police have been killed.

U.N. monitors are trickling in and officials say 30 of a planned 300-strong mission should be in place by Monday to

reinforce observers already stationed in antigovernmenet hotbeds.
