Tributes have been pouring in for US politician Edward Kennedy, who has died after battling brain cancer.

Ted Kennedy belonged to perhaps the most famous political family in the United States, and he spent more than 4 decades as a senator.

US President Barack Obama described Kennedy as an "extraordinary leader", whose work allowed many Americans - including himself - to pursue their dreams.
