Classic Game Room HD reviews GUITAR HERO 5 for Xbox 360, also available for Playstation 3 PS3 and Wii. Guitar Hero 5 makes the GH series a bit more casual by aiming it at the pick-up-and-play market but retains the crushing difficulty settings for those who really want a challenge. This CGR review of Guitar Hero 5 has gameplay from Guitar Hero 5 on Xbox 360, allowing you to play as your avatar and other famous people like Johnny Cash and Shirley Manson. This installment has a huge selection of more than 80 songs from bands like Rammstein, Duran Duran, John Couger Mellancamp, Bon Jovi, Muse, Coldplay, David Bowie and Queen. Play with the guitar or full band including drums, mic and bass. You can even use the older Guitar Hero III guitar if you so choose, so you don't have to buy a new one if you've already got the older GH3 set. Earn Xbox 360 achievement points and rock out with new venues, new characters and some amazing music. The majority of the musical tracks are studio recordings and sound great. Graphically the series is slightly enhanced for Guitar Hero 5 and looks awesome. Earn stars through gameplay and earn bonus stars for those who want to master the game. You can unlock most of everything on easy if you want, but in order to really master it and get everything you'll need a full band and the skill to get through the bonus stars. Guitar Hero 5 may be more of the same but it's still fun and a nice addition to the series, and a nice gift idea for those who enjoyed the other games. There are scores of songs available for download from Xbox Live Marketplace, including tracks from The Rolling Stones and The Killers. GH5 is a good time, if only it had more Duran Duran....
