On October 18, HP announced a number of new initiatives in their APJ Region. Jake Ludington was on hand in Singapore talking with Steve Dietch, Vice President, Marketing HP Networking and HP Enterprise Business about the four key announcements and what they mean. HP 3PAR V800 achieved 450,212.66 SPC-1 IOP/s, which decimated the competition by a wide margin in the industry standard testing for storage performance. HP announced a new CloudSystem Financing, which allows customers to finance hardware and pay in a more predictable fashion, similar to buying cloud services on demand. HP Cloud Centers of Excellence, which provide customers with a place to demo technologies before purchase, are providing a new way for IT departments to test solutions before deployment, with 50% of new facilities debuting in Asia. And finally HP VirtualSystem for Microsoft and HP VirtualSystem for Superdome 2/HP-UX change the way that computing resources are deployed for virutalized environments.
