French President Nicolas Sarkozy has urged an Arabic television station not to broadcast footage of several deadly shootings allegedly carried out and filmed by Mohamed Merah.

The Paris office of Al Jazeera says it received a memory stick with video of the killings and handed it over to police on Monday.
