At least two explosions hit security complexes Damascus on Saturday, killing several civilians and security force personnel.
State television said the explosions were terrorist attacks and that initial investigations showed both were caused by car bombs.
One explosion targeted an intelligence complex and the second hit a security police building.
The explosions came two days after the first anniversary of year-long uprising against President Bashar al-Assad, in which the United Nations says more than 8,000 people have been killed.
Dozens of people were also killed in three bombings in Damascus in December and January.
