George Clooney combined his star power and his humanitarian spirit to attract attention to what he calls the Sudanese government's crimes against humanity. Fresh off a plane from South Sudan, Clooney spoke at the Council on Foreign Relations on Tuesday (March 13) detailing the ongoing problems in the country. He will testify in Washington before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and will meet with President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton this week.

A Los Angeles judge on Tuesday (March 13) dismissed former "Desperate Housewives" cast member Nicollette Sheridan's battery complaint against the hit TV show's creator, Marc Cherry. The decision, which lets stand the wrongful termination suit against Touchstone Television, came as the nearly two week trial approached closing arguments before a jury.

HBO says it will suspend filming with horses on its racing drama "Luck" after a third horse died in connection with the series. A humane group that oversees production has called for a halt in using horses on the show starring Dustin Hoffman after a horse fell and suffered a head injury Tuesday (March 13) morning. During filming for season one of "Luck" in 2010 and 2011, two other horses were hurt during racing scenes and were euthanized.

Charlize Theron has adopted a baby. Theron's publicist said on Wednesday (March 14) the actress is a "proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson." This is the first child for the South African Oscar winner. She won an Academy Award for her role in 2003's "Monster."

The Rolling Stones will not tour to mark their 50th anniversary this year. The band is now targeting 2013 for the gigs. Stones insiders are hinting that one reason for the delay is Keith Richards' health, which has raised questions about his ability to make it through a worldwide tour.
