From the studios of Bhairavi Jaikishan came a collection that will delight the traditional Indian woman. Called "The Sensuous Woman", Bhairavi's line at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 was a range of clothes that luxuriously skimmed the body and flattered the silhouette of the wearer.
Known for her very international look, which she gives cleverly to Indian ensembles, Bhairavi's forté is her use of embroideries and contemporary treatment.
The show stopper was beautiful Amy Jackson, star of the film "Ekk Deewana Tha" who gracefully emerged on the ramp in a magnificent silver lehenga/choli and red dupatta to thunderous applause.
The urban woman got her due with Mineral by Priyadarshani Rao showcasing its collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2012.
Following its non-traditional approach to clothing, they updated the classics with the interplay of natural fabrics and textures with sophistication and refinement.
The Mineral collection has been inspired by the mood and colours of our time away from the humdrum of the city, recognising thereby that time is the only luxury worth having. It is an entire collection of carefully coordinated separates that can be worn and mixed in different ways. It stays at the intersection of formal and casual wear quite skilfully and the pieces can be dressed up or down depending on the mood and occasion. Styling is unhurried and unpretentious, with the emphasis being on comfort and wearability. There is an extensive mix of white and coloured looks, all executed with unexpected simplicity. Breathable, flowy fabrics, ornate laces, and a refreshing absence of embroideries on the garments was the highlight.
