Morgan Freeman, actor and host of the Science channel series Through the Wormhole, thinks aliens do exist, and they might be unfriendly.

In an email exchange with The Huffington Post, the 74 year old asserted--albeit anecdotally--that humans "can't be" the only intelligent beings in the universe. He went on to speculate that good-natured extra-terrestrials might one day visit Earth, but warned they could react hostilely if we were to ever happen upon them somewhere out in the cosmos.

The questions were explored in Tuesday's episode of Through the Wormhole.

Freeman is best known for his standout performances in films like Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, and Invictus. He drew some unwanted publicity in 2009 when rumors surfaced about a supposed 10-year romantic affair with his step-granddaughter which were later said to include wedding plans. Those plans are apparently off since Freeman was seen kissing another woman during a 2012 New Year's celebration.

Freeman had a brush with death in 2008 when he was involved in a serious car crash. He suffered broken bones, and damaged nerves in his left hand.
