Floodwaters spread further in areas of eastern Australia.

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in most parts of New South Wales and Victoria.

The town of Forbes in New South Wales is the latest town to be affected as the Lachlan River rises to over 10 metres.

Many have left town, but for the ones remaining, going into their homes looks difficult, as they have to cross the sandbags.

In the Victorian town of Nathalia, flood levels have peaked but the levee is succeeding in holding the water back.

Local media reported that while some residents have evacuated, many remained to help authorities protect the properties.
