"Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours,
celebrates the “death” of Winter and the “re-birth” of Spring.
During the first night, all over India,
bonfires are lit where symbols of Evil are burned.
The essence of Holi is to worship with joy and gaiety.
And that means colour.
The goal is to dissolve the differences
between individuals and to reach the Divine.
Holi is celebrated by people throwing
coloured powders and water at each other.
On the last day, people meet clothed in white.
They embrace one another, sharing peace and serenity."
