ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

Amateur video uploaded to a social media website on Thursday (February 23) showed Paul Conroy, a photographer for the British newspaper The Sunday Times injured in a rocket attack in Homs on Wednesday (February 22).

"My name is Paul Conroy. I'm a photographer with The Sunday Times. Today's date is the 23d of February, 2012. I was wounded in a rocket attack yesterday - three large wounds to my leg. My colleague Marie Colvin was also killed in the same attack. I'm currently being looked after by Free Syrian Army medical staff who are treating me with the best medical treatment available. And it's important to add that I am here as a guest and not captured. Obviously, any assistance that can be given by government agencies would be welcome," Paul Conroy said in the posted video.

Conroy was injured in the same attack that killed his colleague at the paper, reporter Marie Colvin, and French photographer Remi Ochlik.

The video showed Paul Conroy being looked after by Free Syrian Army medics.

After showing Paul Conroy's injuries to the camera, one of the men said in Arabic, followed by English translation, asked for help in evacuating Conroy from Homs.

When asked by an attending medic if he wanted to add anything, Paul Conroy said: "Just getting help, if possible, and just reassure friends and family in England that I'm absolutely OK."
