Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with leaders of the country's protest movement on Monday after a month of demonstrations against Vladimir Putin's planned return to the Kremlin.

Russian media reported that Medvedev reiterated his wish to bring back elected regional governors and simplify the process of registering political parties.
