Behind-the-ear hearing aids or BTEs are a small to moderately large group of hearing aids that fit over the top portion of the ear. BTEs connect to a small tube that runs along the front of the ear to the opening where they connect to a custom fit ear piece, called an ear mold. Providing great power, these aids can fit from mild to profound hearing losses for persons of all ages. BTEs are exceptionally wonderful for children since only the ear mold need be replaced as the child grows.
