Will we be spending less on our mobile phone bills each month? According to an announcement made by communications Minister Moshe Kahalan, the connection charge will be reduced. The new prices will come into effect as of 1st January 2011. Every call we make is charged in two ways, firstly if we call someone on the same operating service, and secondly when we call to other operating services - this is the connection charge that is in the spotlight. The tarriff now stands at 25 agarot, per minute when we call from one company to another, with an additional charge added by the company we are calling to, the tarrif will drop to 6.8 agarot meaning a 74% cut for us!. This won't mean phone calls will drop by that amount but it will make a big difference to our pockets. In addition, Kahalon says he hopes the tariff will eventually drop to 5 agarot meaning an even bigger saving.
