Biden backtracks on Pollard's release

Backtracking from previous sentiments, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden was quoted saying he opposed releasing jailed Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard. Biden reportedly made the statements during a recent meeting with rabbis in Florida where he said he opposed offering Pollard clemency. He reportedly told the group "over my dead body are we going to let him out before his time is up." Biden's statements contradict an interview he gave in 2007 where he said he supported Pollard's release for time already served. Pollard was imprisoned in 1986 after he was convicted of spying for Israel and sentenced to life behind bars.
